The Fantasy Football Maniac

Maniac–what does it mean? An obsessive enthusiast. A person who has a great craving or enthusiasm for something. This word can describe how I feel about fantasy football.

It all started out as simple game that me and my friends were getting into. It wound up sparking a flame in me that has never waned. I live and breathe everything about fantasy football. I read about, discuss and debate it, and just love every aspect of it.

I started playing fantasy football when you had to get a newspaper and score your players from the stats in the paper. Then compare the score with your opponent to make sure your math was correct. That was a long time ago.

Playing fantasy football has expanded to great masses of people, with many people playing in their offices against co-workers or against friends for bragging rights. Others play it for the competition against people they don’t know. It has become an obsession for many people.

I have played in many different leagues over my years. I’ve played snake draft, auction, IDP and more. I’ve played on many different websites and with a bunch of different tools, magazines, draft software, draftboards, etc…I’ve played for free and for cash. I’ve seen prizes, penalties and trophies and will tell you all about it. I’ve been told by friends that even if I won these fantasy football leagues, the amount of time that I spend analyzing and reading into players and predictions–would amount to  mere pennies an hour and i should be focusing on doing something more productive. I have won thousands and thousands of dollars in fantasy football over the years in the leagues I have entered… Most people think I should be spending my time more wisely but there is nothing I enjoy more.

Well, maybe so. But that’s where this blog comes in. In the upcoming months and years, I plan to share with the fantasy world, reviews of products out there that may help or hinder you. I will offer advice, my thoughts, some rants, and some very important information for my readers. Most of all, I will tell you how I feel about fantasy football and hope that it ignites a fire in you. I know some people play for fun and it’s just something to talk about at the water cooler. For me, It’s a way of life…
